DAUGHTERS OF THE KING

Members of The Order of the Daughters of the King are Christian women who desire a closer walk with God. Daughters, who may be both lay or ordained, are strengthened through the discipline of a Rule of Life and supported through the companionship of their sisters. All are at different stages of their Christian journey but no matter where they find themselves on their sacred path, a Daughter’s goal is the same – to know Jesus Christ and to make Him known to others.

Our chapter of Daughters of the King at The Church of the Resurrection was founded on July 22, 2012 and named the Cross and Crown Chapter.

As a Christian order rather than an organization, the Cross and Crown Chapter is a community of women living under a religious rule. After a period of study and discernment, each member takes vows to uphold their Rule of Life as well as the two rules of the order, the Rule of Prayer and the Rule of Service. Local chapters extend around the world.

Our Vision Statement of The Order: Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision as Daughters of the King is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God’s love throughout the world.

CURSILLO

Cursillo, Spanish for "short course," is a three-day, lived experience of Christianity focused on active faith rather than academic lecture. Inspired by St. Paul's "running the good race," the movement emphasizes the practical application of spiritual life.

Our parish proudly supports the Cursillo of Alabama movement.

  • Cursillo Weekends: We sponsor individuals within our congregation who have a strong desire and abilitiy to attend the life-changing Cursillo weekend.
  • Reunion Groups: Faith doesn't stop after the weekend. We have several active small reunion group meeting weekly to share their spiritual journeys, offer mutual encouragement, and hold each other accountable in piety, study, and action.
  • Ultreyas: Connect with the larger Cursillo community for fellowship, prayer, and inspiring witness talks.

Whether you have already lived your Cursillo weekend and are looking for a local reunion group, or you are curious about learning more, we welcome you with open arms.
